Common problems we repair

Oven will not light

Pilot, thermocouple, ignition module, spark electrode or gas valve on gas units; element or contactor on electric.

Not reaching or holding temperature

Thermostat or temperature probe drift, weak gas valve, a burner that is partly blocked.

Uneven baking, hot and cold spots

Convection blower not running, burner ports clogged, a door that no longer seals.

Convection fan not running or noisy

Blower motor, capacitor or a fan wheel loose on the shaft.

Door will not close, seal or latch

Worn hinges and springs, torn gasket, bent door on a range oven.

Yellow, sooting or lifting flame

Air shutter, dirty burner or a pressure problem. We correct it before it damages the oven or the food.

Fix Time Appliance Repair repairs commercial ovens and ranges for restaurants, bakeries, cafes, pizzerias and cafeterias across the Santa Clarita Valley, the San Fernando Valley, Burbank and Glendale, Monday through Saturday.

On gas ovens the usual suspects are the pilot and thermocouple, the ignition module, the gas valve, the thermostat and a burner that has clogged or rusted. On electric ovens it is elements, contactors, thermostats and door switches. Convection ovens add a blower motor and a door interlock; deck ovens add stone decks and the balance between top and bottom heat. We diagnose at the unit and give you the price before the repair.

For pizza ovens (deck, conveyor and impinger) see our dedicated pizza oven page.

How a service call works

  1. Call or send a request

Tell us the equipment, the symptom and the address. A photo of the data plate helps us bring the right part.

  2. On-site diagnosis

The technician comes to your business Monday through Saturday and checks the whole system, not only the part that looks broken.

  3. Price before the repair

You get the repair price after the diagnosis and approve it before any work starts.

  4. Repair and test

Common parts are on the truck; special-order parts get a lead time. We confirm the unit holds temperature or runs a full cycle before we leave.

Denis replaced a broken part within my LG refrigerator. He was amazing!! He arrived and immediately knew what the problem was. He had me send him a photo and model # the night before. He did his homework before arriving. His charges very fair for amount of work and had the replacement part with him. Very knowledgeable, cleaned up afterwards. I called him on Friday night. He was at my house at 9:00 am on Saturday. I will definitely be using him from now on!!

Thought I would have a quiet President's Day. Had to call Fix Time to repair the dryer. Best decision I could have made. Denis was outstanding. Not only did he diagnose and repair the dryer in a short amount of time. He then went above and beyond and checked out the other appliances. Can't thank him enough as there was a water leak in the refrigerator. Nice catch Denis. You are now our go-to person for any problem in the future.

My repair technician, Denis Shevtsov, was first rate. He arrived on time and was very thorough in ascertaining the problem with my gas stovetop range. Denis ordered the necessary parts right away and came back to repair the stove as soon as the parts were delivered. Denis was extremely polite and professional in explaining what he did and making sure the cooktop was working well once he finished the repair. Very grateful for the excellent service!

Excellent skill and service! Denis is reliable and honest. He took apart our 25 year old washing machine, found the problem, repaired it, and reassembled the machine quickly and skillfully! He made it look easy. I'd say he's a Master technician. We have had him out for three separate service calls and will always call him for repairs. His pricing is very fair. He returns texts / calls asap. He gets the job done right the first time!

Questions business owners ask

Do you repair convection ovens?
Yes: gas and electric convection ovens, deck ovens, range ovens, stock-pot burners and combi ovens.
Why does my oven bake unevenly?
On a convection oven the blower is usually the reason; on a deck or range oven it is burner ports, the thermostat or a door that leaks heat. We test each before replacing anything.
Do you work on gas ranges?
Yes, on the appliance side: pilots, valves, burners, ignition and controls. Gas line and shutoff work belongs to a plumber.
How long does an oven repair take?
Thermocouples, igniters, thermostats and blower motors are common parts and often a one-visit repair. Gas valves and control boards for some models need to be ordered; we tell you the lead time at the diagnosis.
Will I get a price before the repair?
Yes. After the diagnosis you get the repair price and approve it before any work starts. The diagnostic visit itself is quoted when you call, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Which areas do you cover?
Santa Clarita Valley, San Fernando Valley, Burbank and Glendale. Service calls run Monday through Saturday.

Oven down before dinner service?

Send a photo of the data plate. We will call back to schedule the visit.
